Register for Lafayette Police Department Alerts through Nixie
The Lafayette Police Department has registered for the free notification system known as "Nixle".
The system will allow citizens to register and receive alerts about road closures, traffic conditions and emergency announcements, as well as other safety advisories.
The Lafayette Police Department says the new tool will be valuable to the community, providing real information in real time.
To begin receiving notifications, all citizens need to do is go to the Nixle website, http://www.nixle.com. Once registered, citizens can choose to receive their messages by text, email or web.
