Several roads will be closed adjacent to the University for the Zydeco Marathon Race on Sunday, March 13.
The run will begin at 7 a.m. on Jefferson St., Downtown Lafayette. Several streets will be closed that could affect movement around the UL campus. A section of Souvenir Gate, Coliseum Rd., and St. Landry St. between West St. Mary Blvd. and Coliseum Rd. will be closed. Also, several streets through or along the main campus will be closed, including E. St. Mary Blvd., Taft St., Rex St., E. Lewis St. and Girard Park Circle.
No vehicular traffic will be allowed to pass just prior to the marathon and during the race until it is complete. The UL Lafayette Police Department is advising motorists to avoid run areas, unless participating in or viewing the race.
