Law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel will conduct “active shooter” drills on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s campus this week.
They will practice responding to simulated situations in which a gunman is threatening occupants of Griffin Hall.
Drills are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 17.
Portions of Rex Street and E. Lewis streets will be closed during the training. Access to Griffin Hall will not be available during the hours of the exercise.
Students, faculty and staff are urged to avoid the area.
